Beginner Wheel Throwing

Our eight week beginner wheel throwing class will meet weekly for 8 weeks, giving students the opportunity to learn the basics of wheel throwing. We have found that life gets in the way and sometimes student have to miss a week - or we have a tornado warning or a snow storm or whatever. So during the 8 weeks, there will be at least 6 weeks with instruction. AND you get 8 weeks of 24/7 access to the studio for practice and 8 weeks of access to all our glazes, clays and firing. The goal of this beginner course is to learn to make a consistent cylinder shape. That is the basis for most pieces such as mugs and bowls. We will also learn the basics of trimming and making and attaching handles and glazing. Kids are welcome, however we recommend this class for around age 8 and up.
